There are many free programs or Media Tools that you need to keep up to date on your computer so that your computer will work with the files and websites that we want you to see in your courses.

Adobe Reader

Purpose: Used to view and print PDF files (Portable Document Format), a universal file format that preserves the fonts, formatting, colors, and graphics of the original document.

Adobe Flash Player

Purpose: Used to view multimedia buttons, interactive animations, flying logos, and graphics created in Adobe Flash.

Shockwave Player

Purpose: Used to view dynamic and fully interactive animation, audio, and multimedia content created in both Adobe Director and Flash (includes Flash Player).

Purpose: Used to play streaming audio and video on networks and the Internet.

Java Test

Purpose: Java is used to run many educational games that are on the Internet.
